Mission: Empowering the Future Black Leaders

In conjunction with Black Progress Matters’ Core Mission, Black Progress College Advisory is committed to helping high school Black Scholars find their perfect match academically and financially in order to achieve success in college and be fully prepared to become the extraordinary Black executives the future will require.

With proper mentorship, our Black scholars not only receive the financial resources they are entitled to for their college education, but they are also able to find purpose and direction amid the most significant intersection of their lives.

Our Black Progress College Advisory Program matches deserving Black Scholars with Scholarships to enable them with the process, guidance, and mentorship to eventually become the Black leaders Black Progress promotes for the executive suites and boardrooms of organizations worldwide.

The Troubling Data

The data on the education of our future Black leaders is more than troubling. According to Research.com:

  • Black students in bachelor's programs have a five-year graduation rate of only 40.5%.

  • 1% of college graduates are Black.

  • 3% of Black graduates earn 13.3% of associate's degrees.

  • 2% of Black graduates earn 10.1% of bachelor's degrees.

  • 5% of Black graduates earn 11.3% of master's degrees.

  • 1% of Black graduates earn 7.5% of doctorate or professional degrees.

Conversely, the data for White/Caucasians is as follows:

  • White or Caucasian students in bachelor's programs have a five-year graduation rate of 62.2%.

  • 2,410,070, or 64.6% of college graduates, are White or Caucasian.

  • 7% of White or Caucasian graduates earn 56.2% of associate's degrees.

  • 51% of White or Caucasian graduates earn 62.3% of bachelor's degrees.

  • 7% of White or Caucasian graduates earn 55% of master's degrees.

  • 6% of White or Caucasian graduates earn 60.2% of doctorate or professional degrees.

The reasons for the discrepancies run the gamut from financial crisis to educational struggles. At Black Progress College Advisory, we believe that the most pertinent reason we can help solve is a lack of understanding of the process that creates a successful outcome in college. We have built our proprietary Black Progress College Advisory Program to combat this issue.
